EFC/IHM is very active in giving back to the world around us through community service
projects. Below are a few examples of the ways the school has helped those in need
in our community as well as around the world.........
WORLD Community Service Projects
*Toothbrushes for South Africa - In just three weeks our amazing students, families
and staff donated over 1500 toothbrushes to the children of South Africa!
*Smile Train - Raised money to provide for 129+ surgeries for cleft lip/palate.
*Haiti Earth Quake Project - Partnered with a Montessori school to provide Montessori
materials for the classrooms in Haiti.
*Katrina (New Orleans) Hurricane Project - Raised money to send books to a school
in New Orleans to help rebuild their library.
*Mississippi (Victims of Katrina) - Clothing Drive
*Tsunami Indonesia Project - Held a Math-A-Thon raising money for the Red Cross for
supplies.
*Serbian Orphanage - Staff and families of the school donated clothes and children's
supplies.
*Shoe Box India Project - Staff and families of the school donated clothing and supplies
for children.
Local Community Service Projects
*Fellsmere Migrant Workers - Donated school supplies for children
*Florida Aid to Animals - Food and Supplies Drive
*Humane Society - Food and Supplies Drive
*Little Lambs Shop - Staff and families of the school made money and clothing donations
to the Women and Children's Center.
*Soles 4 Souls - Staff and families made shoe donations for the country and the world.
*Toys for Tots - Holiday Toys Drive
*City of Indian Harbour Beach Police Department - Donations were made to local families
in need: toys, clothes, food and pet supplies.
*Sharing Center - Food Drive
*Salvation Army - Food and Supplies Drive
*Florida Wildlife Refuge - Food and Supplies Drive
*Indiafest - Montessori Education Support
*PAFB - Staff and families donated toys, gift cards, etc. to the families of deployed
soldiers for Christmas, 2011.
World and Local Service Projects
Our care of the children should be governed not by desire to make them
learn things', but by the endeavor always to keep burning within them
light which is called intelligence.
