"The 5th and 6th graders in Room 22 at Indian Harbour Montessori, had a special guest speaker today about the solar eclipse. Mr. Czarniak a parent of a 6th grader, is a working scientist and former Astronomy teacher, talked Solar Eclipse today with the students. He gave hands of lessons, Montessori style to exemplify how this is going to happen. He has been waiting for 28 years to see this eclipse. He was thrilled to see that the students had made their own viewers to use on Monday, 8-21-17."
Such a supremely beautiful and delicious luncheon the MPTO hosted for the Teachers and Staff yesterday! Thank you, parents, for the love and appreciation you have shown to us all this week and throughout the school year!
Earth Day - Spirit Day presented by Mrs. Trawick's Class of 3rd & 4th graders in Room 10. We had a special drumming presentation coordinated by our Music Teacher Mrs. Skinner, from our 5th & 6th grade students as well. We also presented to the Founder, Rodney Smith and President, Mike Coneen of Anglers For Conservation a $1,300.00 check from our Fishing Booth Fundraiser, supported by the school's Mako Market. We have been teaching the children to "Love our Lagoon"
Students working together is what Indian Harbour Montessori is all about. Sixth graders mentoring Kindergarten students and painting posts for our all classroom Art installation at the front of the school. More to come, this week!
A special thank you to Mrs. Gloddy for all her work, a labor of love in making our planters and installing the triangular topiaries and flowers. It is a gorgeous entry to Indian Harbour Montessori and our Art Garden!
